A friend of mine wrote this poem, his work is rather original in my opinion...this comes from his life work *in progress* called The Book of Nonsense. (he is just to my left in the blue shirt)

Chapter The Twentieth
By Kyle Highful

One day while I was bright and merry,
Standing up on certain ground,
As sunlight glew upon a cherry,
Moonbeams were falling all around.

When suddenly, my life was battered,
And my brains were out of control,
As peace was quite quickly shattered,
I felt such agony in my soul.

For hark! Hark! saith I.
Gaze upon the horizon blue!
For falling from the cloudless sky,
There cometh drops of glue.

Alas! thought I, in ignorance and folly,
It surely will stop as night draws nigh!
But the rain brought melancholy,
And continued falling from the sky.

Running now for yonder cover,
Hoping to escape the glue,
I began to realize my blunder,
As droplets clung unto my shoe.

Ducking beneath a sticky tree,
Feeling trapped under sky and foliage too,
The realization came to me,
I was surrounded by increasing glue!

When out of the blue expanse,
My rescuers I saw,
For pink elephants made me wet my pants,
And they flew through glue and all!

Finally! I thought at last,
They’ve come to help me through.
And indeed they carried me away quite fast,
As we plowed through the fading storm of glue.

Federalists.

I think that in the very near future we will be hearing some about these folks. I will take this chance to try and give a little background.

Historically, the federalists were the faction that backed the Constitution. They held to the ideals that the counrty would be better run by a strong central government along with all the trappings that would hold such a government together. It is important to mention that John Madison, John Jay and Alexander Hamilton are all federalists. Ever heard of the Federalist papers?

Their opponents were the anti-federalists. Basically living up to their name they fought for an alliance of stronger state governments which they believed would allow each to be run more effectively. Coincidentally, the Articles of Confederation (their document) didn't work well enough to run the country for very long. Anti-federalists include Patrick Henry, Tom Paine and George Mason.

The newly apppointed Supreme Court Judge, John Roberts Jr., is a member of the Federalist Society- though they do not hold on to the exact same points as their predecessors, their issues stay the same for the most part, one of their key purposes is to take deep interest in the decision at hand...

* The Federalist Society for Law and Public Policy Studies is a group of conservatives and libertarians interested in the current state of the legal order. It is founded on the principles that the state exists to preserve freedom, that the separation of governmental powers is central to our Constitution, and that it is emphatically the province and duty of the judiciary to say what the law is, not what it should be.

I think this is a wonderful idea personally, but I have a feeling it will not be totally accepted by a large part of the populace. I can't wait to see what our new Judge will do.

A little note on the title of my blog.

In the recent past (the last two years) I started reading the books written by Madeline L'Engle including her first chronologically in the Murray series --
A Wrinkle in Time. These were always around our house but I never read them until recently.

Aside from her theology I really like these books, enough so that when I had to put down a title for my blog and my eyes alighted on the copy of A Wrinkle in Time that I had finished earlier that day I typed it in without giving it another thought. The little subtitle comes from a scene in the book where they "tesser" onto a two dimensional planet accidentally.

The second reason why I chose this name was because every time I start something like this online (i.e. blogging or Instant Messaging or posting to a forum) it seems to steal away my time. It becomes a time-wrinkle which I am sucked into. Hence my subtitle "the one way road to a two dimensional world"

Ahh, what a fun couple days - I stayed both Sunday and Monday nights at the Stokers ranch outside of Chico Texas. The second night we spent on a houseboat on a beautiful creek and took potshots at turtles and buzzards with our .22s.

An interesting thing occured to me on Tuesday afternoon.

On monday morning I prayed at breakfast that they would get some rain, their tank is about 10 feet low. By the afternoon a few showers had passed over and they got a little bit of rain. It wasn't until the next day that I realized that my prayer had actually been answered and I had not even been bothered to be thankful for it.

I don't know how to wrap this up but needless to say I think I should be more Godly minded - answered prayer is an amazing blessing which shouldn't be taken lightly.

My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up. For thou, LORD, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield. Psalm 5:3,12

Wowie, Pretty Scary.

My switch to working full-time at Domino's is complete - obviously because I have worked about one of the last three days there. I had forgotten how full-time feels, I am rather tired now.

I delivered somewhere close to 60 orders in the last three days and put about 125 miles on my car each day. Yesterday was one of the busiest days I have seen, we were $40 short of $5000 in sales... That is a whole lot of pizza!

Well because of the long hours I have been able to save more money (makes sense) incidentally the reason I wanted long hours was to make more money. So it works out, plus I get cool stories to tell about the funny things people do. Like today for my tip a lady gave me a gas station cookie bag containing 96 cents in assorted change. Guess she cleaned out her car seat this morning...

Anyone else have funny work stories?

This is one of my favorite poems-
I went to sleep to it last night.

Praise to God for Our Redemption
Isaac Watts

Blessed be the wisdom and the power,
The justice and the grace,
That joined in council to restore,
and save our ruined race.

Our father ate forbidden fruit,
And from his glory fell;
And we his children thus were brought
To death and near to hell.

Bless'd be our Lord that sent his Son
To take our flesh and blood;
He for our lives gave his own,
To make our peace with God.

He honored all his Fathers laws,
Which we have disobeyed;
He bore our sins upon the cross,
And the full ransom paid.

Behold him rising from the grave,
Behold him raised on high;
He pleads his merits there to save
Transgressors doomed to die.

There on a glorious throne he reigns,
And by his power divine
Redeems us from the slavish chains
of Satan and of sin.

Thence shall the Lord to judgment come,
And, with a sovereign voice,
Shall call and break up every tomb,
While waking saints rejoice.

Oh may I then with joy appear
Before the Judge's face;
And with the blessed assembly there,
Sing his redeeming grace.

My father introduced me to a very interesting program last night.

Google has recently released "Google Earth" a very comprehensive collection of satellite photos which are nearly completely searchable. It amazes me to be looking at New York City and then type in my address and watch it zoom across the country and zero in on my house.

On the one hand it is scary, I mean this is how you zoom in and look for missle targets. On the flipside of the coin this technology is being used to find guys like Bin Laden.

I think is is a fun toy but what are the practical uses? most of these satellite pictures I could date (WTC, school construction and my house) told me the pictures are about 4 years old so they are definetely out of date.

I just stumbled onto this picture this evening.

What a great crew.. I would love a reunion some time. You know I could go on for a while about how sad it is we can't all get together more, but despite the fact that we can't - we still share the Christian bonds referenced in House of the Lord

You may value the friendships of youth and of age,
And select for my comrades the noble and sage,
But the friends that most cheer me on life’s rugged road
Are the friends of my Master, the children of God.

This is my new blog and I at this point don't know what it will be about.

I would like to make it a discussion of spiritual matters, we will see about that.
